The Educational Servies Department provides assistance related to state and federal programs: - Alerting staff to categorical reform movements prior to their being legislated,
- Updating staff on recently passed federal and state rules, regulations, and legislation affecting categorical programs,
- Advising and assisting in maintaining districts' compliance with federal and state program and funding requirements,
- Coordinating instructional improvement efforts between federal and state categorically funded programs, and
- Providing responses to members' questions.
These service goals are achieved by providing: - Professional development training and resource assistance
- Assessments (STAR, CST, CELDT, CAHSEE...) and Accountability
- Consolidated Application, Part I and Part II, (Con App) including maintenance of compliance for funds received
- Categorical Program Monitoring (CPM): Self Study and Notification of Findings
- Development, monitoring, and evaluation of:
Local Education Agency Plan (LEAP), Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) English Language Learner Master Plan - No Child Left Behind, Titles I, II, III, IV, V, and VI legislation, implementation strategies and resources
- Evaluation of state and federal programs' effectiveness
- School Site Council Governance
- Other related and/or required categorical program reports and services
- Peer networking and collaboration opportunities,
