Joni Adomshick

I graduated from University of Redlands with a M.S. in Speech and Language Pathology in 1981. Upon graduation, I moved to Fillmore, California and taught a Special Day Class for Communicatively Handicapped student in grades 4-7 for seven years. During this period, I attended Cal State Northridge and was working on a Master's Degree in Hospital Administration. From 1988-1991, I was employed as the Director of Educator at Charter Hospital in Westlake Village, California. I relocated to Truckee in 1991. After staying at home with my son, Alek, I returned to work at Glenshire Elementary School in 1997 and taught a K-5 Special Day Class for children with emotional and behavioral difficulties. I have been at Alder Creek Middle School since 2004, working as a Resource Specialist in 6th grade. I love my job, particularly my students, and always enjoy the challenge of getting to know a new group of students each year, determining students' individual needs, and finding ways to assist them in learning. My passions outside of school include cooking, traveling and going to plays. I am married and enjoy spending time with my two children, Alek and Erin.
