Gaylan Larson is married and has two adult daughters. He is currently retired.

Gaylan received his BSEE from U.C. Berkeley and MSEE from Newark College of Engineering, Newark, New Jersey.

Gaylan was a general manager of Data Systems Division, a division of Hewlett-Packard Corporation. At Data Systems Division, Gaylan oversaw an operating budget in excess of $50 million, with 1200 employees, including the functions of engineering, marketing, finance, human resources, quality control, facilities, and manufacturing. He credits his success in business to his analytical thinking, creative problem solving and teamwork skills.

Gaylan has been a member of the Truckee Tahoe Airport Community Advisory Committee (ACAT) since February of 2007, serving as chairman of ACAT in 2009.

Gaylan was a volunteer math tutor and a substitute math teacher at Truckee High School in 2007.
