Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Logan Mallonee, Principal
I knew I found my niche at Truckee High when I became the assistant principal five years ago. Now it is an honor to begin my 11th year in Truckee as the principal of Truckee High School. I look forward to continuing the Truckee High vision, and supporting the upgrades to the school building and the career technical education pathways.
My educational background includes three years of teaching at the San Francisco Unified School District, teaching English Language Arts at North Tahoe School, and serving as a TTUSD academic coach for three years at North Tahoe School, North Tahoe High School, and Truckee High School. I also served a year as the assistant principal of North Tahoe High School and as a professor of student teachers at the University of San Francisco. I hold a bachelor’s degree in English Literature, a master’s degree in teaching, a clear teaching credential and a clear administrative credential from the University of San Francisco.
I believe in TTUSD and that students are the focus of all decisions. I am passionate about Truckee and all we have to offer in our mountain town. I know that this school offers something for any type of scholar and that our visitors will want to stay because of the opportunities we offer our students. Truckee High teachers are professionals who ensure the highest level of learning for all THS students. I value feedback and use it to grow our school, teaching and learning, and the programs we offer. Please feel free to share your ideas and suggestions with us as we inspire, prepare and empower students for college, career, and a purposeful life.
Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. John Neuberger, Assistant Principal
I am excited to be joining the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. The focus on collaboration, creating engaging curriculum, communication, and respect for diversity are crucial elements in my own educational beliefs. It is important for me to live in the community in which I serve so that my own experiences are similar to those of the students and families.
I began teaching Social Studies in my home state of New Jersey. In 2007 I moved to California and earned my secondary credential in English. Over the last 11 years, I have taught in East Palo Alto and San Francisco. For the last four years, I served as the vice principal of administration in Pacifica. I am a National Board Certified Teacher and hold two master's degrees in education, one in Curriculum & Instruction and the other in Organization & Leadership.
I am passionate about equity and restorative practices. I believe in a student's first philosophy that leverages relationship building as the foundation for student achievement. I work hard to create and maintain safe and respectful learning environments for students and staff. I want to leverage the use of restorative practices through community building to reduce suspensions.
As an outdoor enthusiast, I am incredibly excited to be a new member of the Truckee community and look forward to getting to know the people and places that make Truckee great.
