Contractor Prequalification

  • Per California Public Contract Code 20111.6, for all projects valued at $1 million or more and funded in whole or in part with state funds, General Contractors and M/E/P contractors serving as prime contractors, and M/E/P Subcontractors are required to be prequalified.

More specifically, this applies to the following license classifications:

    • All Prime Contractors that are general engineering or building contractors as defined by Business and Professions Code sections 7056 and 7057 (A and B license classifications) serving as Prime Contractors
    • Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Subcontractors (C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and C-46) serving as Prime Contractors or Subcontractors

Tahoe Truckee Unified School District shall process all prequalification applications at QualityBidders.com. Quality Bidders is a web-based online application, fast, simple, safe, and easy to use.

    1)  To get started, please visit QualityBidders.com, and review the instructions.  The District must receive prequalification applications at least ten (10) business days prior to the scheduled bid opening.  All Prime Contractors that are general engineering or building contractors, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors must be approved as having prequalified status at least five (5) business days prior to the scheduled bid opening on the advertised project in order for the contractor to be eligible to bid on that project. Any bid submitted by a bidder who is required to have prequalified status but has not been approved as having a prequalified status, and any bid designating a subcontractor who is required to have prequalified status but has not been approved as having a prequalified status, shall be considered as nonresponsive and returned unopened to the bidder. Prequalification approval will remain valid for one (1) calendar year from the date of the notice of qualification except as noted in the prequalification documents.

    2) Once all applications have been evaluated, you will receive an email indicating your qualification status, expiration date, and bidding limit, if applicable.

Please contact Quality Bidders via email or by calling (714) 505-9544 with any questions about the use of the Quality Bidders web-based tool. For any TTUSD bond related questions, contact Amy Sanders, at (530) 582-2586 or asanders@ttusd.org.
