We're sorry! Summer Scholars 2020 is cancelled due to Covid 19.
Summer Scholars is a summer program that is designed to support our incoming 1st through 5th grade students with literacy. Research shows that students that are reading at grade level by the 3rd grade are much more likely to graduate high school, and be successful later in life. 3rd grade is a pivotal year for reading because TK-3 has a literacy focus of learning to read, while 4th grade and up has the literacy focus of reading to learn. Students are selected that will benefit from receiving literacy support before the school year begins.
Students must be invited by a teacher to be a part of the Summer Scholars program. They are enrolled in Summer Scholars by returning a completed Summer Scholars Packet to their classroom teacher.
