Mrs. Valerie Fletcher

Val Fletcher shares her passion for life-long learning every day with her students and colleagues. Working with at-risk youth for twenty years has inspired her to continue reaching out and helping those who have not had the opportunities many take for granted. Mrs. Fletcher has been a Resource Specialist with the TTUSD since 2002, working with amazing people at both North Tahoe High School and Truckee High School and currently at Sierra High School.

“Val” moved to the Truckee area in 2001 from Maine where she was a credentialed special education teacher. With a credential in teaching and twenty years of experience ranging from the performing and visual arts to working for the New Jersey State Legislature, she brings to her teaching a varied degree of experience in both the public and private sector. Val and her family, husband Michael and children Danielle, Michelle and Juliette, enjoy traveling throughout the West in their motor home, discovering hot springs, the coast and the open road.
