  • Truckee High School Modernization Project includes demolition and abatement of buildings, renovation of the existing 66,100 square foot, two-story classroom building, the addition of a 49,795 square foot two-story steel framed classroom building, 17,000 square foot single-story steel framed addition, 3,600 square foot concrete masonry addition and complete replacement of site, parking, landscaping, and utilities. The scope includes HVAC, Electrical, and Low Voltage system upgrades. The project will be phased to allow ongoing occupancy of the existing building. The work is planned to start in the spring of 2017.

    At Truckee Elementary School, design development is progressing while trying to align the scope with the budget. Sundt Construction, Inc. was hired as the general construction manager.

    Rideout Elementary School Tahoe Lake Interim Housing consists of the relocation and installation of 6 portable classrooms, sidewalk repairs, fire lane widening, and installation of a perimeter fence. This project is set to bid winter 2017, start early spring, and be completed by summer of 2017.

    Donner Trail Elementary School 2017 Modernization Project involves the addition of a 3,040 square foot building, a new Administration/Reception area, and the modernization of the original school building. There will be site work to accommodate drainage, ADA, and the new Facilities. There will be the demolition of portions of the hallways, mechanical room, and front of the building. In the original school building, there will be abatement work required. Modernization in the existing building will consist of removal of an existing stage, the addition of a conference room, and ADA upgrades to the restrooms. The new construction will be two new classrooms and new mechanical rooms. The bid will be advertised early 2017 for construction to commence spring of 2017.

    The scope of the Tahoe Lake Elementary School Modernization Project includes upgrades to the existing school building systems and site utilities, update to the technology infrastructure, construction of new classrooms, new administration front door, new science greenhouse, new parking lot and drop-off area, new kindergarten play area, new and repaired hard courts, new 21st century learning environment with flexible furniture, fire alarm upgrades, and the installation of exterior lighting and security system.

    At Kings Beach Elementary School, the upcoming project includes upgrades to the existing school building systems and site utilities, upgrades to the technology infrastructure, modernization of existing buildings, the addition of new kindergarten classrooms, new science greenhouse, new parking lot and drop-off area, and new campus quad. It also includes repairing hard courts, installation of exterior lighting, fire alarm upgrades, and the installation of fencing and a security system.
