Mrs. Stacey Rodarte

ELD Teacher

Who am I? I am a wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend and teacher. I’ve been married for 23 years and have 3 awesome sons. I grew up in Lake Tahoe and in Auburn and have lived in Truckee for 25 years. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends hiking, playing at the lake, paddle boarding, and playing all sorts of sports.

My passion for teaching: As a little girl, I would line up my dolls and stuffed animals and read and sing to them. I would mimic my extraordinary teachers and their way with their students. I get energized by helping young minds discover new things, articulate their thoughts, and generate new ideas. When I’m able to provide an opportunity where my students can make sense of the real world, I feel successful. Getting to be a part of someone’s life-changing experience of learning every day, feels like magic. I love what I do and feel blessed to get to fulfill my passion daily.

My teaching career: In high school and college, I tutored young kids and taught preschool. A few years after our first son was born, I started teaching full time for Washoe County in Incline and Sparks. In 2013, I hit the “jackpot” and got a job working for TTUSD and have taught at both Glenshire Elementary and Truckee Elementary. I have taught 1st through 4th grades and currently I teach our ELD class part time. My goals are to ensure students have a safe, compassionate and consistent place to go to every day, where they can connect their academic learning to the world around them.
