2-Hour Delayed Starts
After conversations with regional partners, including the Town of Truckee and Placer County, and internal discussions on operational impacts, we’ve concluded that 2-hour delayed starts can be implemented and should be an option for our Snow Watch Committee - the folks who call snow days. This would add another tool to our “snow day toolbox” - allowing roads to be cleared while still getting our TTUSD scholars into school learning.
For a “Delayed Start,” all schools will begin 2 hours later and will be released at the regular dismissal time. Phone calls, emails, and text messages will be sent in the mornings, similarly to on a snow day, so please take this opportunity to ensure your notification settings in Aeries are up-to-date. Additionally, we strive to have Snow Day or Delayed Start notifications on TTUSD.org and through the TTUSD App by 5 am.
Proceeding or canceling extra-curricular activities for the day will be determined at the school site level.
