Mrs. Caroline Piper

Fourth Grade Teacher

I am Caroline and I love teaching. I graduated from Bates College, in Maine, in 2009. After college, I lived in Oakland for eight years. For the last four years, I taught fourth and fifth grades at Kaiser Elementary, a small Oakland public school. Previously, I earned my multiple subject teaching credential and Masters degree in curriculum and instruction from the Bay Area Teacher Training Institute (“BATTI”). While studying at BATTI, I also taught first and third grades at Prospect Sierra school in El Cerrito. During three of my summers in the Bay Area, I taught middle school students at Aim High in San Francisco. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time outside running, biking and skiing with my husband Thad, my dog Abalone, and my friends and family.

I am thrilled to join the Truckee Elementary School community. I look forward to learning and growing with my students. I believe in providing my students with authentic experiences that bring purpose and meaning to their learning. I also look forward to getting to know both my students and their families so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me!
