Mrs. Caroline Piper
Fourth Grade Teacher
Hi! My name is Caroline and teaching is my passion! I graduated from Bates College, in Maine, in 2009. I kicked off my teaching career in Oakland, California, where I lived for eight years after graduating from college. I earned my multiple subject teaching credential and Master's degree in curriculum and instruction from the Bay Area Teacher Training Institute (“BATTI”). While studying at BATTI, I also taught first and third grades at Prospect Sierra school in El Cerrito. I then went on to teach fourth and fifth grades at Kaiser Elementary, a small Oakland public school. During three of my summers in the Bay Area, I taught middle school students at Aim High in San Francisco.
I joined Truckee Elementary in 2018 as a fourth grade teacher and have been teaching fourth grade here ever since. I love our community. Every year I look forward to meeting more incredible students and their families. I believe in providing my students with authentic experiences that bring purpose and meaning to their learning. I also enjoy getting to know both my students and their families, so please don't hesitate to reach out to me!
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time outside running, biking and skiing with my husband Thad and my daughter Willa, and my dog Abalone.
