Mrs. Erica Allstadt

4th/5th Teacher

Teaching Education and History:
Erica earned a BA in Environmental Studies, a Minor in Art, and a BS in Elementary Education from Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont. She earned her Masters in Elementary Education from the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine while working as a paraprofessional in a rural Vermont school. Erica moved to Truckee in 2006 and began teaching in Reno. She taught kindergarten in Sparks, NV from 2006-2009, then taught in the Gifted and Talented Program as a math and science enrichment teacher.  Erica then became the School Within a School Teacher for the highly gifted fifth and sixth graders at Caughlin Ranch Elementary from 2011-2014. Eventually, she moved back into the general education setting to teach first and fifth grades. During her last three years in Washoe County, she completed her National Board of Professional Teachers Certification.

Teaching Passion:
Her number one passion for teaching is the students. She loves creating relationships, challenging students to take academic risks, and providing experiences that help them develop into life-long learners.

Outside Interests:
Family, swimming, running, skiing, hiking, garden, art

If I could have a super power, it would be:  To pause TIME when needed!

This community has grown to be her family. She loves to teach and she loves her family.
