Mrs. Denise Paquette
ELD Teacher/Coordinator
Hi, I'm Mrs. Paquette, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Truckee Elementary School community. Currently, I am lucky enough to share an ELD classroom with Stacey Rodarte. In addition, I have taken on the role as the ELD Coordinator.
Teaching Career: I obtained a BA in Communication Studies from Sacramento State University and a Multiple-and-Single-Subject (Language Arts) teaching credential from National University. I began my teaching career in 2007 in Sacramento, California, teaching 7th grade Language Arts/Social Science. Due to my love of the outdoors and the lifestyle of living in the mountains, I moved to Truckee in 2009. Within the past 13 years, I have been a Reading specialist at a local public charter school, job-shared with Kindergarten and ELD at TES, and have been a frequent substitute in the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. In addition, I taught 3 years of Summer Scholars and K-Camp for TTUSD.
Mission: I am dedicated to providing students with a safe and enriching learning environment that lends itself to motivated learners. My main focus is to support students with their English language acquisition. I am excited and proud to be a part of the ELD community at TES.
Hobbies and interests: When I am not teaching, I spend time outdoors with my two children and husband. During the winter we enjoy activities such as downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, sledding and more. During the warmer months we usually hike, swim, bike and camp all over California!
