Current position:  4th grade 

Teaching History: I started teaching in 2009. I have taught at 4 schools in the Tahoe Truckee School District. So far, I have taught Kindergarten, second, and fourth grade. 

Teaching Passion: I am passionate about integrating literacy through teaching history to children. By using exciting and dramatic historical events, even young kids are engaged in the study of history. I get most excited when kids use these historical events to make connections to current events affecting our world. 

Outside Interests: I love to spend hours alone in the mountains, trail-running. When I am not running, I love to spend time outside with my family on our small sailboat. In the winter, I love to ski powder. I also really love to eat. I am passionate about all things food. I used to read, but then I had a baby. ;)

If I could have any super power, I would like to have the superpower to create warp tunnels to transport me (and my students) immediately to any part of the world. I would love to take my class on a field trip around the world in the blink of an eye. I also love to travel, but really dislike flying. A warp tunnel would solve my problems!
