    Youth dedicated to reducing the stigma around mental health in the North Lake Tahoe Schools and communities.


    VISION
    We envision our community and schools living in a peaceful and safe environment. We recognize peer education and advocacy as a vital tool for reducing the negative stigma around Mental Health Issues. We hope that through awareness, activities, and trainings we can live in a community were labeling, assumptions and stereotypes aren’t tolerated so community members feel safe and comfortable seeking services and knowing they are not alone.


    PROGRAM OVERVIEW
    About: 
    Be The Change Club is a program of the Tahoe SAFE Alliance Prevention Program at North Tahoe High School.

    Who: 
    Students in grades 9-12, parents, teachers and community members can participate as teen advocates or mentors.

    What:
    ⇒ Learn About Teen Issues: Bullying, Anxiety, Teen Dating Violence, Sexual Violence, Tolerance, Suicidal Thoughts, Depression, Self Harm, Influence of Social Media, etc.
    ⇒ Discuss how to influence positive social change around mental health in your community/ school
    ⇒ Plan and develop awareness events and campaigns 


    When/ Where:
    Members meet every Friday at lunch in the Art Room. 
    FREE Food is always provided!!
