Subjects Taught: Intro to Music, 6th grade band, 7th grade band, 8th grade band, Advisory, and Literacy class.

Education: Mr. Humphreys earned an AA degree in Music from the College of Marin in Kentfield California. (1985)

Majored in Clarinet performance and music education and minored in small business administration at San Francisco State University.(1986-1991)

Graduating with a degree in Music Education May 1991.

Earned a California teaching credential at SFSU. (1992)

Played in the SFSU Jazz Band on Tenor, Alto, and Baritone Saxophone. Principal Clarinet in the SFSU Symphony in 1991.

Studied Chamber music under the direction of the Alexander String Quartet at SFSU. Graduated with a Master Music (emphasis on Clarinet performance and music improvisation) From University of Nevada Reno Spring 2015.

Experience: Mr. Humphreys has been teaching middle school music, and private lessons, since 1993 and is in his 22 year of teaching in the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District.

Randy Humphreys Music Educator Graduate of San Francisco State University 1991, received two teaching credentials in 1992; a single subject (K-12) in Music Education and a Multiple Subject (K-12) authorization with an emphasis in Middle Level Education. Mr. Humphreys taught music in the San Francisco Unified School District for two years before coming to teach music here in Truckee in 1995. Mr. Humphreys has been at ACMS since its first day of operation. Mr. Humphreys performs music locally with Pet Nevin and the Deckheads. Mr. Humphreys was a member of the Truckee Alliance for the Musical Arts (TAMA). Mr. Humphreys played with TOCCATA (Tahoe Symphony Orchestra) and the UNR Orchestra in Reno. Mr. Humphreys was selected as a "Teacher Who Makes A Difference" by the Placer County ACSA Placer County Office of Education March 18, 2002. Mr. Humphreys received the California Music Educator Association's-Northern Section Award for "Outstanding Music Educator" of 2013-2014 at the California All State Music Educator's Conference. He earned his Master of Music degree at UNR in the Spring of 2015. He enjoys camping, skiing, cycling, hiking, and spending time with his family and Chocolate lab Cash when he is not teaching or playing music.
