Education: Mr. Humphreys earned an AA degree in Music from the College of Marin in Kentfield California. (1985) Studied Chamber music under the direction of the Alexander String Quartet at SFSU. Majored in Clarinet performance and music education and minored in small business administration at San Francisco State University.(1986-1991) Graduated with a degree in Music Education May 1991. Earned a California teaching credential at SFSU. (1992) Taught middle school music in San Francisco USD from (1993-1995) Graduated with a Master in Music (emphasis on Clarinet performance and music improvisation) from University of Nevada Reno Spring 2015.
Mr. Randy Humphreys
Subjects Taught: Intro to Music, 6th grade band, 7th grade band, 8th grade band, Advisory, and Literacy class. Experience: Mr. Humphreys has been teaching middle school band in the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District since 1995. Randy Humphreys Music Educator; Graduate of San Francisco State University 1991, received two teaching credentials in 1992; a single subject (K-12) in Music Education and a Multiple Subject (K-12) authorization with an emphasis in Middle Level Education. Received Master of Music from University of Nevada Reno in May of 2015. Mr. Humphreys taught music in the San Francisco Unified School District for two years before coming to teach music in Truckee in 1995. Mr. Humphreys has been at ACMS since its first day of operation. Mr. Humphreys performs music locally with the Reno Wind Symphony and the Truckee Meadows Community College Band. Mr. Humphreys was selected as a "Teacher Who Makes A Difference" by the Placer County ACSA Placer County Office of Education March 18, 2002. Mr. Humphreys received the California Music Educator Association-Northern Section Award for "Outstanding Music Educator" in 2013-2014 He enjoys camping, skiing, cycling, hiking, and spending time with his wife children and chocolate lab Cash.
