Sarah Avery started her teaching career in Tahoe Truckee Unified School district in 1992. She has taught third, fourth, and fifth grades as well as one year in kindergarten. She loves watching the students become independent learners and thinkers

Sarah moved to Truckee in 1989, planning on staying just one winter. She met her husband, got married, had two children, and is proud to call Truckee home.

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family. She has two children, both young adults. They all enjoy traveling together, particularly camping in National Parks, and finding new hidden treasures.
