Preschool Special Education

Hello, my name is Ashley Cruttenden and I am so thankful to be a preschool special education teacher at Truckee Elementary School!  This is my 14th year teaching for the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District.  I spent 7 years teaching at Kings Beach and Tahoe Lake Elementary and the last 7 years at Truckee Elementary.  I am passionate about early intervention and have seen all of the benefits it brings.  My focus is to help students succeed through routine building and language facilitation, with an emphasis on social emotional learning, academic progress and self-help skills.  I look forward to building positive relationships with all of my students and their families this year.

I moved to Truckee 20 years ago for the beautiful outdoor environment and the wonderful seasons it brings.  I attended the University of Reno, Nevada for my Masters of Education in Early Childhood Special Education.  When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my husband, our two children and our two rescue dogs.  In my free time, I love to explore the outdoors, cook, read and I enjoy doing yoga.
