Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Cathee Perkins

My name is Cathleen Perkins and I had the great fortune to grow up here in Tahoe City.  My education began with Tahoe Lake Elementary School and I graduated from North Tahoe High School.  I went on to earn my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from California State University in Chico.  Following that, I received my Master of Science degree in Counseling and my Multiple Subject Teaching and Pupil Personnel Services Credentials from California State University in Sacramento.

I have a wide array of experience in the field of education.  I taught third grade at Lincoln Way  Elementary School, fourth grade at Skyridge Elementary and finally fifth grade at Rock Creek Elementary School in Auburn for thirteen years.  During that time, I had the opportunity to participate in a Fulbright teacher exchange program in Bristol, England in 1990 .  In 1996, I moved back to Tahoe City to raise my three children.  I taught multiple grade levels at Truckee Elementary and Tahoe Lake Elementary before becoming the school counselor at Tahoe Lake and Donner Trail Elementary Schools.  I have been enjoying this position for the last seventeen years.  I consider myself a lifelong learner who loves to work with students and help them reach their utmost potential.

I have three daughters:  Hannah, who will be graduating from UC Santa Cruz in June, Haley, who is a junior at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and Lyla, who is in fifth grader at North Tahoe School. Tahoe is an amazing environment in which to raise children.  I am so grateful to find myself living and working in my home town!
