Mrs. King is thrilled to be a part of the ACMS community! She started her career in 1993, teaching 6th grade in Fairfax, VA, and then moved to 4th and 5th grades. After a few years, she and her husband moved to San Francisco and she taught 4th and 5th grades in Tiburon, CA. When her daughter was born, she took a break from teaching to be a stay at home mom. Her son showed up 4 years later. During her time at home, she focused on learning to bake, how to race bikes (mountain and road), and was an avid parent volunteer at her children's school. She returned to the classroom in Los Altos, teaching 6th grade, all subjects at various points. She moved here from the Bay Area in 2017, and lives on Donner Summit. (Yes, she LOVES winter!) In her spare time, Mrs. King likes to bike, hike, ski (alpine, XC, and uphill), and do anything else that allows her to see and experience the mountains! Mrs. King loves teaching, and especially loves teaching math and writing. ​She wants students to know that they can do anything they put their mind to.
