About Mrs. Samelson:
Mrs. Samelson grew up in the Dominican Republic and is passionate about global studies, current events and teaching. To broaden her interest in the Spanish language, she earned a B.A. in Spanish and Latin American Literature from Colorado State University. Shortly upon graduating, Mrs. Samelson moved to Tahoe and was offered a teaching job, which she really enjoyed, so she decided to complete a two year teacher licensure program from Sierra Nevada College. After teaching in Tahoe for several years and working on curriculum development at the administrative level, she returned to Colorado to complete a graduate program at the University of Colorado School of Public Affairs, where she earned a Masters degree in Public Administration, with a focus on Education Policy.

Mrs. Samelson is a lover of all things outdoors. She has three fun young boys and spends most her free time skiing, mountain biking, rafting or enjoying beautiful lake Tahoe.
