This summer, the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District is continuing our prototype programming at the TAHOE School and Outdoor Learning Lab (Rideout facility). From June 1 through August 5, the campus will host residential youth programming, including our 6th-grade camp (June 3–5) and youth leadership programs in partnership with Adventure Risk Challenge (ARC).

Because students will be on-site 24/7 and utilizing both the facility and outdoor camping areas, several temporary safety and operational changes will be in place to ensure student security.

Key Adjustments (June 1 – August 5):

  • Restricted Campus Access
Central campus areas—including the field, blacktop, playground, and direct park access—are closed to the public while camp is in session. Signage will also mark designated student camping areas along the trails.

  • Parking Lot Closed
The main Rideout parking lot is fully reserved for camp staff and Tahoe City Public Utility District (TCPUD) summer project staging. No public parking will be available at the school site. Please utilize parking along 89 or other public parking areas.

  • Alternative Trail Access
Community members and neighbors wishing to access Ward Creek and the local trail network are asked to bypass the school grounds and use either the Highway 89 bike/pedestrian path or the large green gate located just north of the TTUSD property on Timberland.
