TTUSD is safely transitioning to hybrid in October

Friday, September 18, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

TTUSD has approval from our county health officials to reopen our schools in a hybrid model. Our target day to make the transition is Wednesday, October 14, 2020. We have new bell schedules for each school that will go into effect on this day for all students, regardless if they sign up for the hybrid model or if they remain in year-long distance learning. Wednesday, October 14 will be a school day of live virtual instruction for all, and teachers will use this day to review expectations for each cohort and our year-long distance learners.

Thursday, October 15 would be the first day of in-person instruction (for Cohort B).

Families have two options to choose from and we need to know your preference, in the form your principals sent out, by September 22, 2020

You can either:
a)      Sign up your child(ren) for the hybrid model
b)      Sign up your child(ren) to remain in distance learning

In our hybrid model, students will be divided into two cohorts: Cohort A and Cohort B. Each cohort is on campus for in-person instruction, two days per week, with six feet of social distancing from their peers in the classroom. The remaining three days are virtual. In our year-long distance learning program (Cohort C), students will be learning virtually five days per week.

In order for you to make a well-informed decision, we have created a new FAQ sheet specific to reopening our schools and our transition to hybrid instruction. The new bell schedules are also included as well as details on what you can expect of the instructional day for both hybrid and year-long distance learning. Please click here to review.

Please remember that we also have a detailed Guidebook for Families that is updated regularly and posted on our homepages. It includes detailed information about safety protocols and hygiene expectations when on campus. Schools will look different when our students return to campus!
