How does the Regional Stay-at-Home Order impact schools?

The Regional Stay-At-Home Order does not impact schools. Schools are allowed to provide in-person instruction on school sites with the continued vigilant implementation of COVID-19 health and safety protocols, even under the stay-at-home order.

We will be discussing the timelines and conditions for safety reopening our TTUSD schools at our upcoming board meetings (via live streaming) on December 16 and January 6 at 5:30 p.m. Please join us virtually!

Our plan is to remain in distance learning until January 15. We will continue to monitor the number of active cases within our Tahoe Truckee Unified School District community, and if it is safe, and our reopening criteria have been met, we will reopen our schools later in January.

We will continue to follow the guidance provided by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Placer County Public Health (which is constantly changing). Our Safety Guidebook provides layers of protective measures, including face coverings, physical distancing, testing, contact tracing, health screenings, and regular cleaning and disinfection.
