We are pleased to announce that Mr. John Neuberger has been selected as the next principal of Truckee High School! As many of you know, Mr. Neuberger is currently the Assistant Principal at THS and has been working with students and families for 5 years in that role. Mr. Neuberger is a National Board Certified Teacher with two master’s degrees in education, one in Curriculum & Instruction and the other in Organization & Leadership. 

The hiring process for this position began by asking students, staff, and parents via survey what they were looking for in a principal. The gathered information was then used throughout the interview and selection process to ensure that feedback was incorporated. A robust hiring committee, including administrators, teachers, CSEA representatives, students, and parents, vetted all candidates and concluded that Mr. Neuberger is the right fit to drive Truckee High into the future. “We are thrilled to watch Mr. Neuberger expand his role at Truckee High and have full confidence that he’ll do a wonderful job serving our students, staff, and community,” said DeeDee Driller, president of the TTUSD Board of Trustees. “John is focused on leading with an emphasis on equity and serving all our students.”

Mrs. Mallonee will continue as Principal through the end of the 22/23 school year, with Mr. Neuberger transitioning into the role on July 1, 2023. We plan to fill his vacant role as Assistant Principal soon and will communicate more information throughout the process.
