Last week we shared with you that our Board of Education approved the plan to transition from distance learning and reopen our schools in a hybrid model of instruction. We have been aiming for October 14 as the transition day.
We also shared that the targeted start date is contingent on several factors that were discussed at the special board meeting on 9/28 during my presentation. (Click here to view my presentation.) I wanted to let you know that some of these factors are not yet finalized, but we’re very close. We have another board meeting tomorrow night (October 7) where I will give an update on where we stand on each item.
The good news is that the bargaining teams from TTEA and TTUSD met again today and had a very productive session. Both teams worked hard to find compromise and we came to some important agreements. We are confident we will successfully conclude our negotiations shortly.
We hope you’ll tune in and “attend” the board meeting via live streaming. To live stream the meeting, click here at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow. The public session will begin at 5:30 p.m. Click here to view the agenda. We will also send an update out following the board meeting.
