Dear TTUSD Families, 

It has been an honor to serve as the Superintendent of the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District over the past three years and to be a part of this incredibly resilient and connected community. 

I wanted to let you know that I have been offered an opportunity to return to the Bay Area, where I will be closer to family, and I have decided to accept it. At the close of the 2022/23 school year, I will be leaving TTUSD and have accepted a position as the Superintendent of the San Rafael City Schools. 

I will always hold a special place in my heart for the Tahoe-Truckee community and the incredible students - we’ve been through a lot together. Between the COVID-19 pandemic and a record winter, there hasn’t been a dull moment! The staff, students, and community have shown compassion, resiliency, and grit during these extremely challenging times, and I’m privileged to have been a partner throughout. Most importantly, I continue to be inspired by our students, who have exemplified incredible strength and flexibility in the face of unprecedented challenges, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to education and personal growth.

I will continue as the TTUSD Superintendent through the remainder of the 2022/23 school year, ensuring no interruptions to operations and a smooth transition. The Board of Trustees will immediately begin to thoughtfully select a replacement that I’m confident will fulfill the needs of all district stakeholders and, most importantly, our students. 

I want to express my gratitude for placing your trust in me as the superintendent and for providing support and empathy throughout the last few years. It means a lot to me. 

I know the students of TTUSD will continue to thrive, as they have proven over and over!

Estimadas familias de TTUSD,

Ha sido un honor servir como Superintendente del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Tahoe Truckee durante los últimos tres años y ser parte de esta comunidad increíblemente resiliente y unida.

Quería informarles que me han ofrecido una oportunidad de regresar al área de la Bahía de California, donde estaré más cerca de mi familia, y he decidido aceptarla. Al cierre del año escolar 2022-2023, dejaré TTUSD y he aceptado un puesto como Superintendente de las Escuelas de la Ciudad de San Rafael.

Siempre tendré un lugar especial en mi corazón para la comunidad de Tahoe-Truckee y los increíbles estudiantes: hemos pasado por muchas cosas juntos. Entre la pandemia de COVID-19 y un invierno récord. ¡No ha habido un momento con aburrimiento! El personal, los estudiantes y la comunidad han demostrado compasión, resiliencia y valor durante estos tiempos extremadamente difíciles, y tengo el privilegio de haber sido una colaboradora en todo momento. Lo que es más importante, sigo inspirada en nuestros estudiantes quienes han demostrado una fuerza y flexibilidad increíbles frente a desafíos sin precedentes, demostrando su compromiso inquebrantable con la educación y el crecimiento personal.

Continuaré como Superintendente de TTUSD durante el resto del año escolar 2022-2023, asegurando que no haya interrupciones en las operaciones y exista una transición fluida. La Mesa Directiva comenzará de inmediato a seleccionar cuidadosamente un reemplazo que, confío, satisfará las necesidades de todas las partes interesadas del distrito y, lo que es más importante, de nuestros estudiantes.

Quiero expresar mi gratitud por depositar su confianza en mí como superintendente y por brindarme apoyo y empatía durante estos últimos años. Significa mucho para mí.

¡Sé que los estudiantes de TTUSD continuarán prosperando, como lo han demostrado una y otra vez!
