Parent Message:

We are living in stressful times. If you or your child are experiencing feelings of worry, irritability, or changes in your mood right now, please know that you’re not alone. While we need to continue to physically keep our distance from others right now, it is essential for us all to stay socially connected. Something as simple as giving a friend a call to check in on them and have a conversation can go a long way during these times.

If you notice your child is experiencing concerning changes in mood, showing signs of anger, frustration, sadness, depression or thoughts of suicide, please reach out for help. Our school counselors are available to talk to you and your child. If you feel that your child is having thoughts of self-harm or suicide, please reach out the following resources immediately:

  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-8255
  • Crisis Text Line: Text “START” to 741741 to text confidentially with a trained crisis counselor
  • My3 app – free smartphone app that helps youth stay connected when they are having thoughts of suicide
  • A Friend Asks app – free smartphone app with suicide prevention tools, info and resources
