(NOTE: This testing center is closed for the summer.)
Free COVID-19 testing is now available in Truckee through Placer County Public Health. It is not necessary to have symptoms; however, pre-registration is required and can be done at http://www.lhi.care/covidtesting or by calling 888-634-1123.
We have a testing site at the Rideout Community Center (located at 740 Timberland Lane, Tahoe City - Tahoe Lake's old temporary home!) for symptomatic staff and students only during the school year. This testing site is NOT for family members or parents or siblings!
Here is what you need to know:
- TTUSD students and staff (symptomatic or exposed only) can make a confidential appointment using this scheduler link through STEMExpress. Please note: along with the link to the STEMExpress online testing scheduler, please include this lab requisition form which should be completed ahead of time (preferably via computer and not handwritten). The lab requisition form is required to be completed before specimens can be collected.
- The testing site is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Testing is available for TTUSD employees and students, symptomatic or exposed to a confirmed positive (those exposed to a confirmed positive should test ~ 5 days after exposure). No surveillance testing. (if a TTUSD employee takes a COVID test at Rideout, they must go immediately go home-you cannot return to work until you have your test results back).
- Effective November 2, Placer County will only notify our district of positive cases, not negative results, however, all individual employees who get tested will be notified either if they are positive or negative.
Any time we encounter significant weather/snow, this could cause the testing center to close (or not open) for the day.
